The Big FIVE-OH!

WHO:  Lee and Judy ... the guests of honor!

WHAT:  A chance to gather and celebrate their amazing *FIFTY* (that's right, 50!) years of marriage!

WHEN:  Last weekend ... Memorial Day Weekend 2010, almost exactly 50 years after Judy and Lee tied the knot in 1960!

WHERE:  St. Paul's United Methodist Church in downtown State College, PA

WHY:  Well, BESIDES the aforementioned *GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY* that needed to be celebrated, Lee and Judy have an amazing circle of family and friends who all came to show their love and support for this fantastic milestone in their life.  At the center of that circle is Lee and Judy's wonderful daughter Melissa aka Anniversary Party-Planner Extraordinaire!

~~~~~
As you may realize once you start looking at these photos ... this is the *SAME* great family who earlier this year celebrated the 70th anniversary of Judy's PARENTS, Randall and Charlotte!  (You'll see their sweet faces appear a little later on in this post!)
This is a photograph from Lee and Judy's wedding!!!
(And that's Judy's veil, too!)
JUDY'S WEDDING DRESS, 50 YEARS LATER!!!
Now this (above!) was one of the sweetest parts of the day ... Miss Melissa (wonderful party-planner and daughter that she is) had this bouquet made as an EXACT REPLICA of her mom's wedding bouquet!!!  Isn't that so sweet?!!  In this photo, it's sitting with the Bible from Lee and Judy's wedding day :)
The happy couple welcoming their guests ...
And let me just tell you ~ these two are UN-BE-LIEVABLY cute!  It's so awesome to see how much fun they have together and how in *LOVE* they (still!!!) are.  You can just see how much they care for each other and how they shine a light on everyone around them whenever they're together!
Uh-oh ... Baby William is on the loose! ;-)
These two are utterly adorable:
Such fun to look through the wedding album at these photos ... the first one is Judy with her bridesmaids; the next one is the happy couple cutting the cake on their Wedding Day!
~ Dancing ~
The band played some sweet songs that were special to Lee and Judy then and now ~ here they're dancing together, and not long after this, we all had a sing-along to some cute old-fashioned love songs!  It was great!
~ The Dress ~
(It's so tiny!!!  Judy was only *19* when she wore this dress!)
2 of Judy's 3 bridesmaids were able to be at this party to celebrate (again!)!
With the boys:
After the guests left we snuck upstairs to take a few quick family shots ~ you know me, I'm always up for anything that involves STAINED GLASS!!
A *FOUR GENERATIONS* picture ~ so neat!  Judy is in the middle, and to her right are her parents (they're the ones you've seen in a previous Blog post!) Charlotte and Randall; to her left is her daughter Melissa and her GRANDSON, William! :)
And the sweetness just keeps on comin' ...!
Lee's parents couldn't be there to celebrate but Melissa wanted him to be able to have his own "Four Generations" picture ~ so VOILA!  She presented this framed photograph of Lee's parents!  (Clearly, William thought it was a good idea too!!)
Before we called it a day, Melissa wanted to get some shots of her with Little Mr. William.  From this next sequence I think you'll see why I told her I was going to name this album "The Many Faces of Baby William!"
Initially, Melissa's idea was to get some calm, serene shots of William lying his head on her shoulder with her looking down at him lovingly, you know, that kind of thing... ;-)
However, it had been *SUCH* a long day for William and he had been such a trooper for so long (he's amazingly well-behaved for a one-year-old... or for any years old, for that matter!!)... So he was having none of the "posed" shots! :)
Instead, we managed to grab a few fun ones which I assure you, Melissa, are *JUST* every bit as cute!!!
~~~~~

Thanks to Melissa, Bill, and William, and most especially to Lee and Judy for letting me (again!) be there to witness such a special family celebration!  I hope you enjoy the pictures!
